Wrong Information

Once in a while we will have a customer who is certain an operator or travel agent told them our rules, or our prices, or everything is fine with reservation, or they have unlimited mileage, etc. and can't understand why I tell them something else. I simply infuriate them by informing them that they were lied to. I had one lady slam down her hand in a split when I told her that. Apparently no pain struck her. All I can say about getting correct information is print outs. We like print outs. We can easily read what the customer was told on the sheet of paper. Sometimes I have to point out their flawed reading skills (especially on coupons too). If the customer does not have a print out, we can and do print the reservation on our screen for them to see what the person making the reservation put down. Occasionslly, we turn the computer screen so the customer can read it. Otherwise, one can call the renting location directly to check what one reservation says (we get many phone calls asking this question) and to clarify what the customer was told that concerned them. Most often people call asking when we close, if we take debit/check cards, or can they give a credit number over the phone for someone else to rent a car with. Sorry greedy people working on commission lie to customers, or are just badly trained. Post later. Genie out.
