Car exchanges

I had a lady very nervous calling me wondering if she should exchange cars because service lights came on, but upon inspecting the engine, her husband could not find anything wrong with it. Does she come to exchange it or just return it tomorrow as planned?

I explained it depended on their comfort level. If they felt comfortable driving this car into another state as planned, then continue driving the car. If they did not feel comfortable driving it because of the service lights, which are computer chipped so humid weather often sets them off, then bring the car in and I will exchange it. She fretted and demanded that I make the decision for her because she didn't want to bother me unneccessarily. I assured her that I do exchanges every day (they are machines that break down). Since I evaded answering the question, she said she would ask her husband what he thought.

Later that night, they appeared to exchange cars concerned it would break down on the highway. I offered their choices. No problem at all.

Car exchanges are a daily occurance so please do not think it will be a problem or inconveinecing me. The only problem would be the choices of cars customers dislike. A car is a machine and we can not guarentee it will not break down at an incoveinent time or place. Besides, would you prefer to wait on a highway shoulder for me to send a tow truck or do an exchange while it works? Genie out.
