Reservation tricks
I had a woman beg for me to wait for a flight that comes in after we closed. Um, no, we only wait for delayed flights for people with reservations with their flight information in so we know what we are waiting for. She asked, So if my husband makes a reservation then you will. Yep.
The more expensive car rentals wait for delayed flights, cheap car rentals close and wait for nobody. We inform many people of this to be on the receiving end of their anger. We are telling you because we see you standing in front of the counter waiting for someone who is not coming. Our apologies.
Another trick for delayed flight waiters is to place the reservation time the minute before the place closes, and don't forget your flight information. We are not waiting all night for you. Some car rentals in large cities are open 24 hours. But if a location, like mine, does not have flights going out 24 hours a day, then there is no point in being open 24 hours a day.
Everyone asks me which rates are cheapest: reservation line, internet, or through us. I have not done a comparative study since rates change from day to day depending on supply and demand.
I do assure you that going through us does not bring cheaper rates. We recommend the reservation line. Lately, we have been receiving many complaints about operators on these reservation lines who don't speak English. If speaking with a foreign accent bothers you, then I recommend reserving on the internet. The warning there is that if you use another website like priceline or orbitz or whatever, we are not responsible for what sites not under our control do not tell consumers. Every car rental has its own website. There should be a city parameters or city provisions on these websites to tell consumers of special rules, closing times, etc. of any particular city location. You can use a travel agent also for your reservation. In that area, I really can not compare. Though I had to inform a few customers that their travel agent lied to them about everything being fine.
